Automated wars, dehumanized victims
Event on AI-controlled killing by the Israeli military
Wednesday, July 10, 2025 | 7:00 p.m.
Hansa Haus, Brienner Strasse 39, 80333 Munich
Since October 2023, the Israeli military has been using artificial intelligence on an unprecedented scale in the Gaza war. AI systems such as Lavender, Gospel, and Where’s Daddy are taking on key tasks in target selection, surveillance, and killing—often without human control. The automated systems analyze movement and telephone data, compile kill lists with thousands of names, and deliberately calculate civilian casualties. According to international media reports, the Israeli military is working closely with US tech companies to create a military kill cloud.
This development sets a dangerous precedent: the threshold to fully automated warfare has been crossed—with serious implications for human rights and international law.
The event provides information and discussion:
- What role are AI systems playing in the current war in Gaza?
- How is automation changing military decision-making processes?
- What does it mean when algorithms decide on life and death?
