Book reading Friedenstüchtig with Fabian Scheidler

The book reading Friedenstüchtig with Fabian Scheidler is part of the Munich Peace Conference 2026 and will take place as a matinee on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The focus is on Scheidler’s current book Friedenstüchtig (Peaceful), in which he critically analyses the increasing militarization of politics and society.

Fabian Scheidler shows how images of the enemy are created politically and why military logics do not create security, but instead generate new violence. Instead of a permanent state of emergency, he argues for an active peace policy based on cooperation, global justice and democratic control.

The book reading Friedenstüchtig invites you to question security policy narratives and to rethink peace as a formable political task.

Please note: The book reading will be held exclusively in German.
