Andreas Zumach used the term “turning point” to draw a parallel between the wars in Ukraine and Afghanistan. After the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, the “War on Terror” was also proclaimed a turning point. In his lecture, he went on to explore the questions “War in Ukraine – was/is the peace movement wrong? Do pacifism and ‘making peace without weapons’ belong on the scrap heap of history?”
