War interests – War narratives: Afghanistan, Ukraine

Prof. Dr. Claudia Paganini, philosopher, captivated the audience with her lecture “The Power of Images – War Reporting from the Perspective of Media Ethics” and reflected on our daily use of images. Dr. Fahim Amir moved hearts with his lecture on the criminal acts committed during the 20-year war in Afghanistan and its consequences for the people and the country today. Andreas Zumach used the term “turning point” to draw a parallel between the wars in Ukraine and Afghanistan. After the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, the “War on Terror” was also proclaimed a turning point. In his lecture, he went on to explore the questions “War in Ukraine – was/is the peace movement wrong?
