Harald Hellstern lives in Stuttgart and is a member of the international Catholic peace movement pax christi. In 2013, he was elected to the Arms Export Commission of the German section of pax christi and served as its spokesperson for eight years.
Until 2023, Harald Hellstern worked as technical manager in a workshop for people with disabilities run by Caritasverband für Stuttgart e.V. Since 2024, he has been an ambassador for the “Aktion Hoffnung” charity in the Stuttgart region.
