Common prayer for peace and understanding
The Prayer for Peace of Religions is a central moment of reflection and collective pause in the context of the Munich Peace Conference 2026. In a time of global crises, armed conflicts and social polarization, this interreligious prayer invites us to pause and set a common example for peace, dialogue and humanity.
Jews, Christians, Muslims, Bahá’i and Buddhists come together to pray for peace from their respective religious traditions. The prayer for peace makes the spiritual diversity visible and at the same time emphasizes what they have in common: the responsibility of all religions for non-violence, compassion and respectful coexistence.
The interfaith prayer for peace deliberately sees itself as an open space. It is not only aimed at religious people, but at everyone who is looking for ways to achieve peace, understanding and solidarity. Through prayers, texts, silence and symbolic actions, a moment of shared hope is created – beyond political, cultural or ideological boundaries.
With the Prayer for Peace of Religions, the Munich Peace Conference is sending a strong signal for interreligious dialog, peaceful coexistence and the conviction that sustainable peace is not possible without mutual listening and recognition. All interested parties are cordially invited to take part in this special evening and stand up together for a more peaceful world.
