Workshop “Being able to defend oneself without weapons? How can that work?” with Nele Anslinger and Jochen Neumann
10 am | Welcome and Introduction
In this workshop, we first ask ourselves: What is it that we want to defend? What do we feel threatened by? What is security for us? After an introduction to social defense, we examine and discuss which form of defense – whether military or social – is better suited to what we want to defend, preserve or change.

Katrin Habenschaden
2014 to 2020 honorary city councilor for the Green Party. Since May 2020 Second Mayor. Chairwoman of the Committees for Construction, Labor and Economics, Culture, Climate and Environment, and Mobility. Coordinator of the thematic areas Labor and Economy, Gender Equality, Education for Sustainable Development, and Europe and International Affairs. “Munich is a beautiful city. The parks and green spaces, the proximity to the mountains, the many cultural opportunities and the cosmopolitanism make Munich attractive. At the same time, our success poses major challenges for our city, for example in terms of traffic and rents. As mayor, I want to work to set the right course in the coming years so that Munich remains livable – and home to all people, regardless of their pockets.
One of the biggest tasks for the future, in addition to a well-done traffic turnaround, is environmental and climate protection. Cities are responsible for two-thirds of global CO2 emissions. Making Munich climate-neutral is therefore necessary – for the sake of our children and grandchildren. At the same time, we must continue to be economically successful, because a modern infrastructure, urban housing, good social services and a rich cultural offering cost money. As a Green and a graduate in business administration, I stand for a climate-friendly economy and climate. I entered politics because I want to help shape the future of our beautiful city – for the benefit of all citizens. But that is only possible if you know what moves people. Therefore, do not hesitate to contact me or write to me. I will always have an open ear for you.”

Thomas Lechner, City Councillor Munich
Human rights activist, cultural worker, DJ, and independent city councilor of the parliamentary group DIE. LINKE/DIE PARTEI with the following political priorities:
A colourful, solidary Munich for young and old persons
This includes participation, participation, and equal opportunities for refugees and migrants, gender equality and equality for LGBTIQ* people, as well as true inclusion of people with disabilities.
This also includes: promoting civic engagement and greater democratic involvement of those affected in decision-making processes.
No profits with land and rent – housing is a fundamental right
I am in favour of a social and ecological land policy that keeps land in municipal hands. I would like to see the construction of apartments with municipal and non-profit housing associations, the strengthening of tenant initiatives and the promotion of common-interest property such as cooperatives and tenement syndicates
Munich climate-neutral by 2025
I am for the expansion of public transport which should be ticket-free by 2025. I would like to expand pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Urban development must be planned sustainably, existing energy and resource guzzlers must be converted or eliminated.
Visions and investments for a modern, livable & affordable Munich for ALL residents
I want to fight poverty and secure well-paid employees, have more staff in care and health and care close to the district, reduce bureaucracy in administration and create jobs in their service areas. This requires a different budget and investment policy, including a departure from the dogma of the debt brake.
