The Israeli army’s attack on the people of the Gaza Strip has been going on for months. The number of victims (as of April 24) is 34,260 dead and 77,230 injured. New ones are added every day. The destruction on this small piece of land is devastating: hospitals, schools, mosques and churches, administrative buildings, residential buildings, entire neighborhoods were bombed to the ground.
Is there still hope? Hope for Palestine?
Helga Baumgarten, Professor Emeritus at Birzeit University, Palestine, will shed light on the background to the war against Gaza.
To this end, Hamas, which is demonized in Germany, must be critically analysed, as must Israeli settler colonialism.
Are there prospects for an end to the violence? Is Hamas ready for this? What are the goals of the Netanyahu government?
Finally, the hope of the Palestinians, even in the hell into which Gaza has been bombed since October 2023, is to be shown: symbolized in the small yellow rose that the teenager Abu Baker raised in Deir al-Balah.
