From February 18 to 20, the 58th Munich Security Conference will be held in the Bavarian capital at the luxury hotel Bayerischer Hof. At the same time, non-governmental organizations set a different tone with the International Munich Peace Conference in the Old Town Hall.
Greenpeace campaigner Christoph von Lieven, responsible for peace policy at the environmental organization and spokesman for nuclear disarmament, is one of the speakers. He spoke with Telepolis about the different priorities and perspectives of the two conferences, as well as the two dangers depicted by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists ‘ symbolic “Doomsday Clock”: the threat of nuclear war and the climate crisis.
